Needle-free
option for SRP (scaling and root planning).
Don’t like needles? Relax, because
you’re not alone. Unfortunately, many
of today’s dental procedures require
the use of a needle to apply numbing products.
But now there’s something to smile
about...
Oraqix (pronounced
or-a-kicks) the needle-free anesthetic is
here!
- Needle-free anesthesia treatment
- Clinically proven and indicated for
“adults who require localized anesthesia
in the periodontal pockets during scaling
and/or root planing”
- Rapid 30-second onset after application
to the periodontal pocket
- First and only FDA approved subgingival
(below the gum line) anesthetic for scaling
and/or root planing
- Effective anesthesia that lasts for
approximately 20 minutes (individual overall
range 14-31 minutes)
- Clinical benefits have been critiqued
nationally by the TODAY Show, USA Weekend,
CNN, the Boston Herald, SELF and Men’s
Health
This needle-free option could
work for you.
Oraqix is not for everyone. People with
hypersensitivity to local anesthetics of
the “amide” type such as lidocaine
or prilocaine, or with sensitivity to other
product compounds should not use Oraqix.
For some patients, the pain relief provided
by Oraqix may not be enough and an injection
may be necessary. Most common adverse reactions
in clinical studies were application site
reaction, headache and taste perversion.
