A porcelain veneer generally covers only
the front and top of a tooth, to cover some
imperfections.
Why should I get a
porcelain veneer?
- Close spaces between teeth
- Lengthen small or misshapen teeth
- Whiten stained or dark teeth
- Fix crooked teeth
Today a veneer placed on top of your teeth
can correct nature’s mistake or the
results of an injury and help you have a
beautiful smile.
How do I get a veneer?
It takes two appointments to restore your
teeth with veneers. On the first visit we
shape and roughen the teeth with a handpiece.
After having them ready and choosing the
shade (color) that you want, we take impressions
that are sent to the lab, from that, the
lab will make precise models that are used
to artistically craft veneers to exactly
fit the prepared tooth, and match the shade
of your teeth.
On the second appointment we clean and
polish the prepared teeth, then we place
an adhesive to bond the veneer to the teeth.
A harmless high intensity light hardens the
adhesive.
Once in place, veneers become part of
the teeth. You can use them like you would
your own teeth.
We recommend that you avoid some foods and
beverages that may stain or discolor your
veneers such as coffee, tea or red wine.
Those beverages also stain your natural
teeth. Sometimes a veneer might chip or
fracture. But for many people the results
are more than worth it.
